Whiplash

Whiplash is a common term used to refer to neck or back sprains caused by car accidents. Even the smallest car accident can cause a whiplash to your spine, but most people do not feel the effects until 3 days later!

We urge every person involved in a car accident to be evaluations by a health professional. Chiropractors are specialists in whiplash injuries.

It is common to feel stiffness and soreness that may progressively get worse until the 3rd day. This may make it difficult to move your neck and back. Over time, the swelling will go down, easing the stiffness and soreness in your neck and back but pain will come and go several times a day. This can last for weeks and even months. The sooner you start treatment the less likely you are to have permanent damage and the sooner the pain will go away.
