Headaches are very common. While there are many different types of headaches, most suffer from the common tension headache. These headaches are effectively treated with chiropractic care.

Tension Headaches

Tension headaches can be described as a band like pain that starts in the back of the skull extending to the head of the brow line. These headaches can be on both sides or just on one side. It is important to have headaches evaluated by a health professional to determine the underlying problem.

The root of the problem commonly lies in the spastic and rigid muscles located at the base of the skull. These are called the sub-occipital muscles. When these are stressed it can cause pain to travel around the skull. Poor posture while sitting, standing, or sleeping can stress these muscles. We treat this with massages, stretching, and chiropractic adjustments.
